About Me

In 1997, I was a drug and sex addict, sexually confused, broken and lost.  I had wrecked my life .  It was there that Jesus found me.  In His kindness, He brought me into a good church, gave me great friends and slowly began to rebuild my life.  Jesus has changed everything.  18 years later and I am a totally new person.

These good days, I pastor a 1300-member church on the SW side of Chicago, Calvary Church. I am ordained in the Reformed Church in America and have my Masters of Divinity from Western Seminary.   I have written for The Gospel Coalition, contribute regularly at Lifeway Pastors, and serve on the board of The Restored Hope Network.  I co-wrote, Compassion without Compromise: how to love your gay friends without losing the truth; and recently wrote, Hope for the Same-Sex Attracted.

I have been married to my wife Amy for 15 years, have 4 boys, love to hike and live in Chicagoland.  Go CUBS!

I would love to connect:
