Psalm 23:2 (ESV): 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters

The Father loves the Son, the Father loves the Son, and the Spirit points to and celebrates the love of Father and Son. For God, Love is not primarily something he does. Love is what He is.
He loves you because that’s who he is. This reality is the why of your peace. You can be a bad sheep, a mean sheep, a dirty sheep, or even a dumb sheep; still, he loves you. We can take a deep breath. He loves us, and He has brought you to green pastures.
Green pastures are places of abundance. A sheep lays down because the sheep is fully satisfied. There’s so much to eat that he couldn’t take one more bite.
The Shepherd has brought you to green pastures. God is real food. Your invited to fill yourself up with his presence. Eat until you can’t take another bite. Then, you’ll be full, satisfied, and ready to rest. Lie down and be at peace.
Still, waters are waters that are the opposite of treacherous waters. One gives life, and the other kills. We need help to receive life. The shepherd provides this help.
Is your life treacherous? Trust the shepherd. He will lead you to still waters. Life calm and filled with ease? Celebrate! The shepherd has led you to still waters.
Today, open your eyes. Jesus will satisfy you until peace consumes you. Today, Jesus is leading you. Trust him even if it doesn’t look like it. He’s leading you to a place of ease and calm.
Jesus loves you. It is well with your soul.
